The Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles went the distance in a thrilling five-set matchup at Cincinnati Clermont on October 4, ultimately falling just short (25–7, 20–25, 21–25, 25–22, 13–15). After a dominant opening-set win, the Golden Eagles continued to fight through momentum swings and showed impressive resilience in one of their most competitive matches of the season.

Mackenzie Neininger powered the offense with a standout performance, leading the team with 18 kills and 19 points, consistently delivering in key moments. Allie Snyder was equally impressive, posting 16 kills on a .357 hitting percentage while adding 2 service aces.

At the setter position, Allie Keller ran the offense with precision, dishing out 45 assists and adding 2 kills and 2 block assists while contributing 13 digs on defense.

Defensively, Elizabeth Keller anchored the back row with a team-high 28 digs, keeping rallies alive and creating second-chance opportunities. As a unit, the Golden Eagles collected 92 total digs, displaying relentless effort and strong defensive coverage throughout the match.

Kent State Tuscarawas forced a decisive fifth set after a clutch fourth-set win, but Cincinnati Clermont edged ahead in the final moments to take the match. Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles showed growth, determination, and the ability to compete at a high level.

The Golden Eagles will return home on Thursday, October 9, to take on Cuyahoga Community College in their next matchup.
