Game 1:
Kent State - Tuscarawas With Tough Game Against Franciscan University

Kent State - Tuscarawas had trouble keeping up with Franciscan University in an 18-1 loss on Wednesday at 3rd St NE.
 
Franciscan University jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after a passed ball scored one run, #28 homered to center field, scoring two runs, Ashley Legg induced Emma Clow to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Kyra Collins grounded out, scoring one run.
 
Franciscan University scored five runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Collins drew a walk, scoring one run, #3 doubled, scoring two runs, Collins scored after tagging up, and an error scored one run.
 
Franciscan University scored eight runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Collins grounded out, scoring one run, Emma Davis drew a walk, scoring one run, #7 drew a walk, scoring one run, #28 was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, #33 singled, scoring one run, Madison Kozares singled, scoring one run, Elizabeth Maxwell singled, scoring one run, and Clow singled, scoring one run.
 
#28 earned the win for Franciscan University. The hurler gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking two. Legg took the loss for Kent State - Tuscarawas. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking four.
 
Krystal Spillman, Lily Specht, Gabriela Rivera, Leah Wright, and Amanda Lillis each collected one hit for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Alexis Schall led the team with one run batted in. Kent State - Tuscarawas had patience at the plate, piling up four walks for the game.
 
Franciscan University accumulated 13 hits in the game. Clow, Kozares, Maxwell, #3, #28, and #33 each collected two hits for Franciscan University. Collins and #28 each drove in three runs for Franciscan University. Franciscan University had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 10 walks for the game. Davis, Maxwell, and #7 led the team with two bases on balls each. #3 stole two bases. Franciscan University stole four bases in the game.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas will travel to Franciscan University for their next game on Wednesday.

Game 2:
Kent State - Tuscarawas Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over Franciscan University

Kent State - Tuscarawas won big over Franciscan University 14-6 on Wednesday at 3rd St NE.
 
Franciscan University got on the board in the top of the first inning after #7 singled down the right field line, and #33 tripled to center field, each scoring one run.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Amanda Lillis singled to center field, Franciscan University committed an error, Gabriela Rivera singled down the left field line, and Krystal Spillman singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
 
Two more Kent State - Tuscarawas runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 6-2. Caitlynn Edwards hit a solo inside the park home run, and a steal of home scored one run.
 
Franciscan University tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a single by Elizabeth Maxwell, a double by Emma Davis, and an error.
 
In the bottom of the fourth, Kent State - Tuscarawas broke up the tie when Lily Specht singled, scoring one run. Then a sacrifice bunt by Alexis Schall followed to extend the lead to 8-6.
 
Ashley Legg began the game for Kent State - Tuscarawas. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and six runs (five earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking two. #42 led things off in the circle for Franciscan University. The hurler allowed 13 hits and 10 runs (six earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas accumulated 16 hits in the game. Legg led Kent State - Tuscarawas with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Spillman and Leah Wright each collected three hits for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Grace Yoder, Edwards, and Rivera each collected multiple hits for Kent State - Tuscarawas. Edwards paced Kent State - Tuscarawas with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying five walks for the game. Wright stole two bases. Kent State - Tuscarawas ran wild on the base paths, amassing three stolen bases for the game.
 
Davis went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. #33 led Franciscan University with two hits in three at bats. #3 and #42 each stole multiple bases for Franciscan University. Franciscan University ran wild on the base paths, collecting six stolen bases for the game.
 
Kent State - Tuscarawas will travel to Harriers for their next game on Saturday.
