Golden Eagles Push No. 1 Penn State York to the Limit in Elite Eight Loss

The Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles season comes to an end Tuesday night, falling 95-91 to the No. 1 seed Penn State York in a hard-fought Elite Eight matchup.

Tuscarawas delivered one of its strongest offensive performances of the season, shooting 52.2% from the field and knocking down 18 three-pointers. Despite the strong shooting night, Penn State York used its size and rebounding advantage to secure the victory and advance to the Final Four.

The Golden Eagles were led by Blaine Raber, who poured in 24 points while shooting 9-of-12 from the field and 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. Garrett Sprutte added 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Ethan Bower contributed 18 points and four assists. Jaxon Robb also had a strong performance with 17 points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Kent State Tuscarawas controlled the perimeter throughout the contest, shooting 43.9% from three-point range and spreading the scoring across the starting lineup. However, Penn State York held a decisive 42-30 advantage on the boards and capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 15 of 20 attempts.

Penn State York was led by John Godinez, who finished with 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting, while Terrell Neal recorded a dominant double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Quentin Wells added 17 points and dished out 11 assists for the top-seeded squad.

Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles' strong effort kept the game close throughout, as both teams shot over 52% from the field in a high-scoring contest.
