Dominant First Half Sets Tone in Golden Eagles Win

The Golden Eagles of Kent State University at Tuscarawas delivered a statement win on the road, defeating Andrews University 103–90 in a high-scoring matchup.

KSU Tusc came out strong in the first half, building a 52–41 lead behind efficient ball movement and perimeter shooting. The Golden Eagles continued their offensive rhythm in the second half, adding 51 more points to secure the 13-point victory.

The offense was clicking all night. KSU Tusc shot 43.7% from the field (31-71) and an impressive 42.9% from three-point range (15-35). They also capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 26 of 34 attempts (76.5%). Their ability to stretch the floor proved to be a key difference, as Andrews shot just 25.8% from beyond the arc.

Leading the way was Garrett Sprutte with a dominant double-double performance of 32 points and 12 rebounds. Sprutte shot 9-18 from the field, 3-6 from three, and knocked down 11 free throws while adding three assists and three steals. Dasjuan Williams added 22 points, connecting on five three-pointers and going 5-6 from the line. Jaxon Robb filled the stat sheet with 13 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, while Blaine Raber contributed 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. Ethan Bower added 12 points, hitting three shots from deep.

The Golden Eagles also controlled the glass, outrebounding Andrews 45–35, including 19 offensive rebounds that led to second-chance opportunities. As a team, KSU Tusc recorded 31 assists, showcasing unselfish play and strong court awareness.
