Contini gave the Navy and Gold an early lead and finished the day as one of two Kent State Tusc wrestlers to go undefeated for the day at 3-0. Lane Householder pinned CWRU's Brandon Barton in 34 seconds and was also unbeaten against his three opponents.
Freshman newcomer Elijah Nash recorded a pin 21 seconds into the second period of his match against Adam Kats to keep the match close at 18-9 after Contini's win. The last win for the Golden Eagles came from Collin Mancuso with an 8-5 decision over Kyle Roberts in the 165lb. class, as both he and Nash ended the Duals with 2-1 records.
