Claymont High School senior Cambria Edwards has officially committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Kent State University at Tuscarawas, where she will compete in women's golf.
A standout member of the Claymont Mustangs golf program, Edwards has been a Varsity Girls Golf athlete from 2023–2025, earning Honorable Mention All–Inter Valley Conference recognition in both 2023 and 2025. During the 2025 season, she recorded the lowest scoring average on the Claymont girls' golf team and was named Athlete of the Month in August 2025, highlighting her consistency and leadership on the course.
Edwards' success extends well beyond athletics. She has been named to the Principal's List from 2022–2025, is a member of the National Honor Society (2025), and was the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Essay Contest Winner in 2024. She also participated in the Summer Law and Trial Institute in 2025, demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence.
An active leader in school and community, Edwards has participated in Mock Trial, Student Council, Academic Challenge, and the JA Company Program, and currently serves as Senior Class Treasurer. She is also a dedicated member of Girl Scouts.
Kent State Tuscarawas Women's Golf Head Coach Dane Kreischer shared his excitement about Edwards joining the program, saying, "We're really excited to have Cambria joining our program. She's a hard-working student-athlete who loves the game and brings great leadership with her. We're looking forward to watching her grow and make an impact both on the course and in the classroom."
