The Kent State Tuscarawas women's basketball team saw its season come to an end in the Elite Eight with a 63-51 loss to Penn State York.
The Golden Eagles struggled to find their rhythm offensively, shooting 26.1% from the field and 24% from three-point range. Despite the tough shooting night, Tuscarawas battled throughout the contest and forced 26 turnovers on the defensive end.
Mallory Stutzman led the Golden Eagles with a game-high 25 points, knocking down five three-pointers while adding seven rebounds. Abbey Parker recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds to anchor the effort inside.
Kadence Stutz contributed across the stat sheet with nine points, five rebounds, six assists, and six steals. Tamarra Thomas added five points and four rebounds.
Penn State York was led by Delaney Burroughs, who scored 29 points while connecting on four three-pointers and adding seven rebounds. Harper Poff and Skylar Curley each pulled down 13 rebounds to help Penn State York control the boards, finishing with a 61-42 rebounding advantage.
While the Golden Eagles created opportunities with their defense, Penn State York capitalized at the free-throw line and used its rebounding edge to secure the victory.
The loss ends a strong season for Kent State Tuscarawas, as the Golden Eagles advanced to the Elite Eight during their postseason run.
