Kent State–Tuscarawas delivered a strong all-around performance Tuesday night, defeating Lorain County Community College 78–61 behind dominant inside play and balanced scoring.
The Golden Eagles were led by Danajia Woodard, who posted a standout double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds. Woodard was aggressive throughout the night, getting to the free-throw line 13 times and setting the tone in the paint. Zoey Steele provided a major scoring spark as well, finishing with 23 points, eight rebounds, and four assists while shooting efficiently from the field.
Nevaeh Harrison added 12 points and six rebounds, along with three steals, helping fuel Kent State–Tuscarawas on both ends of the floor. The Golden Eagles also benefited from steady contributions across the lineup, as they out-rebounded LCCC 48–32 and forced 21 turnovers.
Kent State–Tuscarawas shot 36.9 percent from the field and capitalized at the free-throw line, converting 27 of 36 attempts. Their defensive pressure and rebounding edge allowed them to control the tempo and pull away in the second half.
The Golden Eagles are set to play December 20th at 1:00 PM at home vs Penn State Fayette.
