Charles (Chuck) R. Peach, of Port Washington, is the softball coach for Kent State University at Tuscarawas. He has more than 20 years of baseball and softball coaching experience in Tuscarawas County and in the Indian Valley and Newcomerstown school systems. He was inducted into the Tuscarawas County Cy Young Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006.
In addition to his coaching career, Peach has been employed by the United States Postal Service for 18 years, most recently as a delivery supervisor.
Peach’s successful coaching career includes stints as a coach in the Tuscarawas County Class A Baseball League, Little League and the Indian Valley Junior League in baseball. He has also served as a head coach for 18u, 16u, 14u, 12u and 10u teams in the Indian Valley Junior Miss as well as Twisted Sister and Sugar and Spikes travel softball teams. He was the head softball coach at Newcomerstown High School for four years where he coached one two-time All-Ohioan, one three-time First Team Inter Valley Conference (IVC) player, one two-time First Team IVC player, eight Scholar Athlete recipients, and never had a player who was academically ineligible and was an assistant coach for the Trojans for four seasons.
Coach Peach was a four-year letterman in baseball at Newcomerstown, earned Eastern District All-Star honors twice, was awarded the Citizenship Award and served at student council president in high school. He played for 10 seasons in the Tuscarawas County Class A Baseball League and is background certified by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, American Softball Association and the United States Government.
