Golden Eagles Softball Lands Lakota's Rubel

Chevelle Rubel of Lakota High School has officially committed to continue her academic and athletic career at Kent State Tuscarawas as a member of the softball program. Rubel has excelled both in the classroom and on the field throughout her high school career, making her a tremendous addition to the program.

Academically, Rubel maintained a 3.5 GPA all four years of high school while earning Honor Roll recognition each year. Her dedication in the classroom reflects the same work ethic and discipline she brings to athletics and community involvement.

On the softball field, Rubel established herself as one of Lakota High School's top performers. She finished her career with an impressive .503 batting average and broke three school records, including most RBIs in a season (35), most hits in a game (6), and most RBIs in a game (8).

Beyond academics and athletics, Rubel has also made a significant impact in her community. She volunteered with her school's food pantry, participated in food drives, and helped distribute food to those in need. She also co-founded a school-based organization called Helping Hands for Hygiene, which collected and donated hygiene products for individuals and families facing hardships at home or school.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Chevelle to Kent State Tuscarawas Softball," said Head Softball Coach Larry Schall. "She is an outstanding student-athlete who brings talent, leadership, and character to our program, and we cannot wait to see the impact she will make both on and off the field."
