Game 1:
Kent State University at Tuscarawas delivered a dominant performance Sunday, cruising past Penn State Beaver with an 11–1 victory.
Kent State Tuscarawas wasted no time setting the tone, exploding for five runs in the top of the first inning. Reyes got things started with an RBI single, Yoder followed by drawing a bases-loaded walk, and Lovelace broke the game open with a three-run single.
The momentum continued into the second inning, when Lemmel ripped a double to extend the lead to 6–0. In the third, Yoder added to the advantage with a solo home run to left field, further cementing Kent State Tuscarawas' control of the game.
On the mound, Lemmel earned the win with a solid outing, allowing just one unearned run on four hits over 3⅔ innings while striking out four. The bullpen kept things locked down, highlighted by Shepherd's 2⅓ innings of scoreless relief, giving up only one hit and striking out two.
Offensively, Kent State Tuscarawas was relentless, piling up 16 hits. Yoder led the way with three RBIs from the seven spot, going 2-for-3. Van Horn and Lovelace each recorded three hits, while Edwards, Reyes, and Lemmel also contributed multi-hit performances.
Game 2:
Kent State University at Tuscarawas showed early promise but ultimately fell 11–3 to Penn State Beaver on Sunday.
Kent State Tuscarawas came out strong, striking first in the opening inning when Yoder delivered a clutch double that drove in two runs and gave his team an early 2–0 advantage. The lineup remained disciplined throughout the game, drawing eight walks and consistently putting pressure on the Penn State Beaver pitching staff.
Defensively, Kent State Tuscarawas was sharp and mistake-free, not committing a single error. Edwards led the way in the field with three plays, helping keep things steady despite a tough stretch early on.
At the plate, Yoder paced the offense with two RBIs, while Cress, Lemmel, and Kliffel each contributed hits. The team showed patience and composure, battling through at-bats and creating opportunities with runners on base.
Although Penn State Beaver responded with a big first inning and continued to add on, Kent State Tuscarawas continued to compete throughout the game.
