Game 1:
Kent State University–Tuscarawas dominated Lakeland CC with an 8–0 victory on Friday, fueled by a standout performance from Cress. She drove in four runs on two hits, including a three-run home run to left field in the second inning and an RBI single in the first.
Tuscarawas wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. In the opening inning, Cress knocked in the first run with a single, followed by Yoder's two-run triple. Lovelace added another run with a groundout, giving Tuscarawas an early edge. The momentum continued in the second inning when Cress launched his three-run homer, extending the lead even further.
On the mound, Lemmel delivered a strong performance for Tuscarawas, tossing six shutout innings while allowing six hits, striking out four, and issuing no walks to earn the win. Richter took the loss for Lakeland CC, surrendering eight runs (four earned) on eight hits over five and one-third innings.
Tuscarawas also made an impact on the base paths, with Shepherd swiping two bases as the team totaled three stolen bases overall. Defensively, they were flawless, committing no errors, with Yoder leading the way with seven fielding chances.
Game 2:
Kent State University–Tuscarawas showcased a complete performance on Friday, shutting out Lakeland CC 2–0 behind a dominant outing from Shepherd.
Shepherd set the tone on the mound, tossing a shutout while helping Tuscarawas pitchers combine for six strikeouts. The game featured strong pitching on both sides, but Tuscarawas capitalized when it mattered most.
Tuscarawas broke through in the second inning, with Lovelace driving in a run on a double to center field and Edwards following with an RBI single to bring home another. Those two runs proved to be all they needed.
Offensively, Lovelace led the way with one RBI, going 1-for-3 on the day. Yoder, Kliffel, Lovelace, and Edwards each contributed a hit, keeping steady pressure on Lakeland CC. Tuscarawas also stayed aggressive on the base paths, swiping four bases in the game.
Defensively, Tuscarawas was flawless, not committing a single error. Kliffel anchored the defense with a team-high eight fielding chances.
