Game 1:
Kent State University at Tuscarawas showed plenty of offensive firepower on Saturday but came up just short in a 12–10 loss to Terra State Community College in a high-scoring battle.
Tuscarawas came out strong early, opening the scoring in the first inning when Lillis brought home a run on a groundout. After Terra State briefly tied the game, the Eagles erupted in the third inning, putting together a six-run surge on five hits to take a commanding 7–1 lead. Yoder delivered a key moment in the inning, driving in two runs to cap the rally.
Despite the early dominance, Terra State responded with a big offensive push of their own, highlighted by a three-run home run in the fourth that helped swing momentum. The game remained tight, but Terra State pulled ahead in the sixth inning, capitalizing on timely hits and an error to take control.
Even in defeat, Kent State Tuscarawas showed strong offensive discipline and aggressiveness. Lillis led the team with two hits, while Yoder drove in two runs from the lower part of the lineup. The Eagles were patient at the plate, drawing eight walks, with Reyes and Lemmel each earning two. Reyes also sparked the offense on the bases, stealing three bags as Tuscarawas totaled multiple stolen bases in the game.
Kent State Tuscarawas demonstrated resilience and explosive potential, building an early lead and continuing to pressure offensively, but ultimately fell just short in a back-and-forth contest.
Game 2:
Kent State University at Tuscarawas battled through a dramatic, back-and-forth contest on Saturday but fell just short in a 10–8 walk-off loss to Terra State Community College.
After falling behind early, Tuscarawas responded in a big way, flipping the game in the second inning with a five-run outburst. The Eagles capitalized on timely hitting and defensive miscues, highlighted by a key play that brought in two runs. They continued to build momentum in the third, as Edwards delivered an RBI single and Spillman added a clutch two-run double to extend the lead to 8–1.
Tuscarawas maintained control through the middle innings, backed by solid contributions at the plate. Spillman led the offense from the nine spot, driving in four runs, while Lemmel added two hits in a strong performance.
Terra State gradually worked its way back into the game, tying it in the sixth inning before the contest came down to the final frame. With the score knotted at eight, Terra State secured the win on a walk-off triple in the seventh.
