Golden Eagles Drop Doubleheader to Edison State

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Edison State Community College on Wednesday.

In game one, Edison State took control early, scoring four runs in the second inning and adding two more in the third on several timely hits and sacrifice flies. Kent State Tuscarawas was limited offensively throughout the contest and fell 9–0. Lillis recorded the Golden Eagles' lone hit in the game. Shepherd started in the circle for Kent State Tuscarawas, pitching 3.2 innings.

Game two saw Edison State strike quickly again, plating three runs in the first inning and adding five more in the second to build a large early lead. Kent State Tuscarawas was unable to recover and ultimately fell 12–1. Spillman led the Golden Eagles offensively, going 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Edison State's offense remained consistent across both games, combining for 26 hits in the doubleheader.

Kent State Tuscarawas will look to bounce back in its next matchup when the Golden Eagles travel to Defiance College on Monday.
