Kent State Tuscarawas Makes History with 4th-Place Finish at Nationals

 

Kent State Tuscarawas showed resilience and strong teamwork in Round 2 at the Penn State Blue Course, finishing 4th overall at nationals, the best finish in school history.

The team was led by a solid performance from Cole Eltringham, who fired a 74 (+2) and earned Second Team All-American honors, while Tanner Norman bounced back with a 77 (+5), improving six strokes from Round 1. Austin Gunn continued his consistent play with a 79 (+7) and also captured the 2025 Chipping Contest title.

Trenton Shrock added an 81 (+9), Doug Miller carded an 83 (+11), and Drew Gallant rounded out the lineup with an 84 (+12), giving the Golden Eagles a complete and competitive team effort.

Trenton Shrock – 81 (+9)

Doug Miller – 83 (+11)

Drew Gallant – 84 (+12)

 

Leah Wright playing as an individual on the Women's Side played a great round 2 finishing with an 80 and securing a 5th place finish nationally.

 

Drew Gallant and Leah Wright were nominated as All-American's finishing with a 3.5 Cumulative GPA or higher.

 

And Cole Eltringham finished as a 2nd team All-American for the Golden Eagles.

 

 Kent State Tuscarawas capped a historic nationals appearance with a strong team performance and multiple individual highlights. With top finishes, All-American recognition, and a chipping contest win, the Golden Eagles have set a new standard for the program and will look to build on this success in the future.
