Kent State Tuscarawas Opens National Tournament with Strong First-Round Performance
The Kent State Tuscarawas men's golf team kicked off the USCAA National Tournament at the Penn State Blue Course (Par 72, 6,329 yards) with a steady and competitive opening round, placing themselves firmly in the hunt on the national stage.
Trenton Shrock led the Golden Eagles with a composed 77 (+5), setting the tone early with consistent play. Austen Gunn and Cole Eltringham followed closely behind, each carding 78 (+6) to give the team three strong scores in the 70s.
Drew Gallant added an 80 (+8), while Tanner Norman and Doug Miller both finished with 83 (+11) to round out the lineup. The balanced team effort showcased the depth of the roster and kept Kent State Tuscarawas well-positioned heading into the second round.
Leah Wright playing as an individual on the Womens side finished with an 89 (+17) ending the day in 5th Place overall.
Austen Gunn participated in the USCAA National Chipping Contest and brough home the trophy for the Golden Eagles.
