Beallsville, PA -
Rainy weather turned heavy at times, puddled the greens and made the fairways sloshy at Nemacolin Country Club, washing away the Golden Eagles hopes of getting in a final tournament before heading to the USCAA National Golf Championships.
The Beallsville, PA, area had seen more than three inches of rain over the last several days and a midround downpour made putting impossible forcing tournament officials to sound the horn that signaled the stoppage of play.
KSU Tusc had finished eight holes on the 6737-hole layout, having played five of the hardest handicapped holes (Nos. 2, 6, 7, 15, 17) on the course.
The Golden Eagles will now focus on honing their skills for play in the USCAA National Golf Championships slated for the Penn State Blue Course in State College, PA, on October 13-15.
Drew Gallant and a fellow golfer surmise the situation at the flooded seventh hole at Nemacolin.
