Jaiden Portis has officially signed his Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Kent State University at Tuscarawas, where he will play basketball for the Golden Eagles.

Jaiden's signing is the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and excellence in the classroom, in athletics, and throughout the community. A standout student-athlete at Theodore Roosevelt High School, Jaiden has built a reputation as a leader, competitor, and role model.

Beyond his athletic accomplishments, Jaiden has devoted countless hours to serving others through organizations such as Kent Youth Association, Kent Social Services, the Kent Historic Community Garden, mini camp for basketball and football, and the Ben Curtis Family Foundation, where he helped prepare Birdie Bags for families in need. He has also volunteered as a freshman mentor, assisted in the school counseling office, and contributed to grounds maintenance at Roosevelt.

In athletics, he has earned numerous honors, including football team captain, Scholar-Athlete Award, Rough Rider Award, Second Team All-Suburban League and All-District in football, First and Second Team All-Suburban in track and field, and Most Improved Athlete in track. He holds the school record in the long jump and has earned varsity letters in football and track all four years, along with two varsity letters in basketball.

Academically, Portis completed a two-year Career Technical Education program in Business and Sports Management and consistently achieved Honor Roll and Merit Roll recognition.

"Jaiden is a great fit for our program, and we're very excited to have him join the Golden Eagles family at Kent State University Tuscarawas. He is a talented athlete, a hard worker, and a high-character young man who brings strong leadership both on and off the court. We look forward to watching him continue to grow and contribute to our basketball program." -Coach Tharp, Head Men's Basketball Coach, Kent State University at Tuscarawas
