Golden Eagles Battle but Fall to Cincinnati-Clermont, 97–77

Kent State Tuscarawas put up a strong fight but couldn't keep pace with a high-powered Cincinnati-Clermont offense, falling 97–77 on February 7 at Founders Hall Gym.

The Golden Eagles stayed competitive throughout the first half, trailing by just seven at the break, 49–42. Kent State Tuscarawas found success inside and on the glass early, using second-chance opportunities to keep the game within reach.

Dasjuan Williams led the way offensively for the Golden Eagles with 22 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc and attacking the basket throughout the afternoon. Garrett Sprutte added a solid performance in the paint with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Blaine Raber contributed 12 points. Ethan Bower chipped in 10 points, and Jerry Arrington gave the team a lift off the bench with 8 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

Despite strong rebounding numbers — finishing with 45 total boards and 21 offensive rebounds — Kent State Tuscarawas struggled to convert consistently, shooting 38.8% from the field and 16.1% from three-point range. Turnovers also proved costly, as the Golden Eagles committed 19 on the afternoon.

Cincinnati-Clermont maintained control in the second half, scoring 48 more points behind balanced scoring and efficient shooting. Caden Zeinner led all scorers with 27 points, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line. Landon Naylor added 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Kenyon Gardner and Robbie Johnson each contributed 15. AJ Austin Robinson provided a spark off the bench with 12 points.

While the Golden Eagles kept the game competitive early, Cincinnati-Clermont's efficiency and depth helped them pull away late to secure the 97–77 victory
