Golden Eagles Basketball Defeats Westmoreland County CC

Monaca, PA – November 7, 2025

The Kent State University at Tuscarawas men's basketball team earned its first win of the season with an 87–63 victory over Westmoreland County Community College on Friday night at the CCBC Tip-Off Classic.

The Golden Eagles held a slim 39–36 lead at halftime before pulling away in the second half, outscoring Westmoreland 48–27 to secure the win. Garrett Sprutte led Kent State Tuscarawas with 28 points and 8 rebounds, while Blaine Raber added 11 points and 8 rebounds. Ethan Bower also reached double figures with 10 points in the victory.

As a team, Kent State Tuscarawas shot efficiently and controlled the tempo throughout the game, using strong rebounding and balanced scoring to build their lead.

With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 1–2 on the season and will return to action on November 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM, when they face Community College of Beaver County on the same court.
