Game 1:
Kent State Tuscarawas (KSUT) Eagles delivered a strong all-around performance on Thursday, cruising to a 10–4 victory over Williamson.
Williamson struck first, capitalizing on an error in the opening inning to take an early lead. But Kent State Tuscarawas quickly responded. In the second inning, the Eagles surged ahead 3–1 behind timely singles from Maine and Salgado, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
The momentum continued in the third when Patchett launched a two-run homer to left field, extending the KSUT lead. Williamson attempted to chip away, with Fredericksdorf adding a solo home run in the fourth, but the Eagles maintained control throughout.
Castillo earned the win for KSUT, pitching four innings while allowing six hits and four runs (three earned), striking out five and walking two. The bullpen sealed the deal, as Baker and Dray combined for shutdown relief to keep Williamson in check. Gross took the loss for Williamson after surrendering five runs over three innings.
Offensively, KSUT racked up nine hits and showed impressive discipline at the plate with seven walks. Patchett led the charge with three RBIs, while Campbell, Salgado, and Larson each recorded two hits. Camphorst added patience with two walks.
The Eagles were especially aggressive on the basepaths, swiping an impressive 10 bases, with Campbell and Salgado each stealing multiple bags. Their speed and pressure played a major role in the win. Defensively, KSUT also contributed with a double play.
Game 2:
Kent State Tuscarawas delivered a dominant performance on Thursday, shutting out Williamson 12–0 behind explosive offense and flawless defense.
Monnard led the charge in emphatic fashion, driving in four runs on a single swing—a grand slam to center field in the second inning. That blast highlighted an eight-run outburst in the inning, where KSUT completely took control. Larson started the rally with an RBI single, Bohanon followed with a two-run double, Maine added a sacrifice fly, and Monnard capped it with the towering home run.
The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board, jumping ahead in the first inning. Bohanon singled in a run, Patchett added a sacrifice fly, and Salgado delivered a two-run single to give Kent State Tuscarawas an early cushion they never relinquished.
On the mound, Foltz was sharp, earning the win with two hitless innings while striking out four and issuing no walks. Williamson's DePoulter struggled, allowing nine runs on seven hits in just one inning of work.
Offensively, KSUT totaled nine hits, with Larson and Bohanon each collecting two. The Eagles were relentless on the basepaths, piling up an eye-popping 15 stolen bases. Schofield, Campbell, Larson, and Walter all swiped multiple bags, constantly applying pressure on Williamson's defense.
Defensively, Kent State Tuscarawas was just as impressive, playing error-free baseball. Bohanon led the way in the field with four chances, helping anchor a clean and efficient defensive effort to complete the shutout victory.
