Golden Eagle Baseball Secures 22nd Win Over Manor

Game 1:

Kent State University at Tuscarawas delivered an explosive performance on Sunday, rolling past Manor with a 12–2 victory powered by a massive third inning.

Kent State Tuscarawas broke the game wide open by scoring nine runs in the third. Patchett started the surge with an RBI double, Salgado followed with a three-run single, and Schofield added a two-run single. Bohanon and Walter each chipped in with run-scoring groundouts, while Patchett capped the inning with another RBI knock.

The Eagles had already taken the lead in the second inning, manufacturing a run on a Salgado groundout before continuing their offensive onslaught.

On the mound, Foltz earned the win with a strong outing, allowing just one run on five hits over two innings while striking out four. Lockard got the start and limited damage early, and the bullpen duo of Baker and Checo shut things down the rest of the way to secure the win.

Offensively, Kent State Tuscarawas showcased both power and speed. Salgado led the team with three RBIs, while Schofield and Patchett each collected two hits. The Eagles were relentless on the basepaths, racking up an impressive 12 stolen bases, with Ruhter, Schofield, and Patchett each swiping multiple bags.

Defensively, Kent State Tuscarawas was flawless, not committing a single error. Ruhter anchored the effort with six defensive plays, highlighting a complete team performance.

 

Game 2:

Kent State University at Tuscarawas delivered a dominant all-around performance Sunday, shutting out Manor 12–0 behind a huge day from Monnard.

Monnard led the offensive charge, driving in four runs on three hits. The standout performance included RBI singles in the second, third, and fourth innings, helping power Kent State Tuscarawas to a commanding win.

Kent State Tuscarawas set the tone early in the first inning, taking a 2–0 lead after Bohanon grounded out to bring in a run and Campbell added excitement by stealing home. The offense kept rolling in the second, with RBI singles from Monnard, Schofield, and Bohanon extending the lead.

The Eagles broke the game open in the third inning, plating five runs on four hits. Monnard and Schofield each delivered two-run singles, while another run scored on a fielder's choice to cap the rally.

On the mound, Kent State Tuscarawas was just as impressive. Kent got the start and tossed three scoreless innings, allowing only three hits while striking out four with no walks. The bullpen duo of Billman and Castillo kept Manor off the board the rest of the way, sealing the shutout.

Offensively, Kent State Tuscarawas totaled 11 hits, with Schofield and Camphorst each recording multiple hits. The Eagles were aggressive on the basepaths, with Monnard, Schofield, and Campbell each stealing multiple bases as part of a nine-stolen-base effort.
