Despite the lopsided final score, the Eagles struck early. Ruhter put KSUT on the board in the top of the first inning with a double, giving the team an early spark and brief momentum.
However, Kentucky Christian quickly responded and took control of the game, piling up runs behind an explosive offensive showing. They finished the game with an impressive 16 hits, consistently applying pressure on the Eagles' pitching staff.
Castillo took the loss for KSUT Eagles. The right-handed pitcher lasted one inning, surrendering eight runs on six hits while walking one and recording no strikeouts.
Offensively, Maine provided a bright spot for the Eagles, leading the team with two RBIs from the ninth spot in the lineup and going 1-for-3 on the day. Ruhter, Schofield, Maine, Salgado, and Patchett each contributed a hit, showing some scattered production at the plate.

Both teams came out swinging, combining for 23 hits in a high-scoring contest. Kentucky Christian finished with 14 hits, while the Eagles tallied nine of their own.
KSUT found an early answer in the second inning when Walter launched a home run to left field, tying the game at 1-1 and energizing the dugout.
The Eagles kept the pressure on in the third inning, taking a 5-3 lead. Schofield blasted a solo home run to right field, and Larson added a sacrifice fly to drive in another run as KSUT briefly seized control.
One of the most unusual moments came in the sixth inning, when the Eagles scored five runs without recording a hit. Capitalizing on defensive miscues and disciplined at-bats, KSUT drew multiple walks and used productive outs to generate offense. An error brought in one run, Ashcraft worked a bases-loaded walk, Salgado lifted a sacrifice fly that plated two, and Schofield added another RBI via walk.
Billman was charged with the loss after allowing five runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, walking four without recording a strikeout. Kent started on the mound, pitching two and one-third innings while giving up six runs (three earned) on four hits, with two strikeouts and four walks.
