Golden Eagles Roll Past OVCC, 28–6

Ruhter drove in four runs on two hits to lead the KSUT Eagles to a dominant 28–6 victory over OVCC on Friday. Ruhter delivered a two-run single in the first inning and later hit an inside-the-park home run in the fourth to bring in two more.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning. Ruhter singled to drive in two runs, Bohanon tripled to plate another, and Campbell doubled to score two more, giving KSUT an early advantage.

OVCC answered in the bottom of the first when Kowinski hit a solo home run to left field.

KSUT extended its lead in the second inning when an OVCC error pushed the score to 6–1. The Eagles added three more runs in the third inning after Schofield singled to bring in a run and another defensive miscue allowed two additional runs to score.

The Eagles' offense exploded in the fourth inning, scoring 11 runs on six hits. Ruhter's inside-the-park home run highlighted the inning, while Maine added an RBI single. Schofield and Patchett were both hit by pitches with the bases loaded to drive in runs, Larson delivered a two-run single, Bohanon added a two-run single, and a wild pitch brought in two more runs.

KSUT continued the offensive surge in the fifth inning with eight runs on three hits. Ruhter reached on a fielder's choice that brought in a run, Walter doubled to score two, Monnard was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, Feagin drew a walk to force in a run, and Biars capped the inning with a three-run double.

Castillo started on the mound for KSUT, allowing four hits and five runs (four earned) over four innings while striking out three and walking two. Foltz also appeared in relief for the Eagles. Picasso took the loss for OVCC, giving up nine runs (five earned) on seven hits over 2.2 innings while striking out three and walking two.

KSUT collected 16 hits in the game. Campbell, batting eighth in the lineup, led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Larson, Walter, and Bohanon each recorded multiple hits. Schofield and Larson each stole multiple bases as the Eagles finished with seven stolen bases in the game.

Defensively, KSUT played a clean game without committing an error. Ruhter led the team with five chances in the field.

Hodges Jr. led OVCC with two RBIs. The third baseman finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Hodges Jr., Smith, Sierra, Perez, Kowinski, and Hough each recorded a hit for the Bulldogs.
