Golden Eagles Fall to Point Park, 8–4

The KSUT Eagles could not keep pace with Point Park, falling 8–4 on Sunday.

Point Park struck first in the top of the first inning when Deschon doubled to bring in the game's opening run. The Eagles responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning, taking a 2–1 lead after Bohanon singled to drive in a run and Patchett grounded into a double play that allowed another run to score.

Point Park tied the game in the top of the second when Villegas singled on an 0–2 count to make it 2–2. The Eagles regained the lead in the bottom of the inning as Salgado delivered an RBI single, putting KSUT ahead 3–2.

The game remained close until the seventh inning, when Point Park broke it open. The visitors scored six runs on four hits in the frame to take an 8–3 lead. The key hit of the inning came from Deschon, whose single drove in two runs.

Monnard started on the mound for the Eagles, allowing six hits and five runs (four earned) over 6.1 innings while striking out two and walking two. Villegas opened the game for Point Park, pitching one-third of an inning and allowing one walk.

KSUT recorded 10 hits in the contest. Campbell, Salgado, and Larson each collected two hits to lead the Eagles at the plate. Salgado and Bohanon each drove in a run.

Point Park finished with 11 hits. Deschon led the offense with three RBIs while going 3-for-5 at the plate. Deschon and McCann each tallied three hits, while Moore added two hits in four at-bats. Point Park also stole three bases, turned two double plays, and did not commit an error. McCann led the defense with nine chances.
