Eagles Sweep Penn State Fayette in Saturday Doubleheader

The Kent State Tuscarawas Eagles picked up a doubleheader sweep over Penn State Fayette on Saturday, winning 7-3 in game one and 5-3 in game two.

In the opener, the Eagles jumped out early with a four-run first inning. An error brought in the first run before Patchettand Biars each delivered RBI doubles. Kent State Tuscarawas added another run in the second and extended the lead to 6-0 in the third on a passed ball.

Foltz earned the win on the mound, allowing three runs over five and two-thirds innings while striking out five. Billmanadded scoreless relief. Patchett led the Eagles with two RBIs, while Ruhter, Schofield, Maine, Salgado, Patchett, Biars, and Larson each recorded a hit.

Game two was tighter, but the Eagles again came out on top. Ruhter drove in the first run with a walk in the second inning, and Kent State Tuscarawas regained the lead in the fifth when Schofield brought home two runs.

Quinby picked up the win after striking out six over four innings, and Baker closed the game to earn the save. Larsonled the offense with three hits, while Schofield drove in two runs and stole three bases.
