Golden Eagles Struggle At Malone

Golden Eagles Struggle At Malone

Canton, OH

December 30, 2025

Kent State Tuscarawas ran into a strong Malone team on the road Tuesday night, falling 107–80, but the Golden Eagles had several performances worth noting.

Garrett Sprutte paced KST with a big night, scoring 27 points on 11-of-18 shooting. He was aggressive from start to finish and also came up with six rebounds and three steals. Off the bench, Dasjuan Williams gave the Eagles a lift, knocking down shots on his way to 13 points, while Jaxon Robb and Blaine Raber each finished with 10 points.

The Golden Eagles shot the ball well overall, hitting 45.5 percent from the field and 10 three-pointers on the night. They stayed competitive early, trailing by just 12 at halftime, and continued to attack offensively in the second half despite Malone's depth and pace.

Malone's size inside combined with their efficient shooting proved pivotal, creating matchup problems throughout the game and ultimately pulling the contest out of reach for Kent State Tuscarawas.

Kent State Tuscarawas will be back in action right after the New Year, traveling to Cincinnati-Clermont on Sunday, January 4. The matchup is set for a 3:00 PM tip-off and will be a USCAA contest.
