Kent State Tuscarawas put together a competitive offensive performance but ultimately fell 105–87 to Ohio Christian on December 12 in Game 1 of the Holiday Classic.
The Golden Eagles shot an efficient 47.9% from the field, moving the ball well and finishing with 25 assists on 35 made baskets. Garrett Sprutte led the way offensively, scoring a team-high 19 points while adding six assists and five rebounds in 36 minutes. Ethan Bower and Jaxon Robb each chipped in 15 points, with Bower knocking down an impressive five three-pointers.
Blaine Raber continued his strong all-around play, scoring 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting while dishing out a team-best seven assists. Off the bench, Dasjuan Williams provided a spark with six points in just nine minutes, and Brody Moreland added six points and five rebounds.
Kent State Tuscarawas won the battle on the glass 29–25 and generated scoring chances throughout the game, but Ohio Christian's depth and pace proved difficult to overcome.
The Golden Eagles are set to host Day 2 of the Holiday Classic on December 13 vs Miami Middletown.
Game 2:
Kent State Tuscarawas delivered one of its most efficient offensive performances of the season on December 13, defeating Miami-Middletown 90–86 behind hot shooting and balanced contributions.
The Golden Eagles connected on 54.7% from the field and an outstanding 53.3% from three-point range, knocking down 16 triples to keep constant pressure on the Miami-Middletown defense. Ethan Bower led all scorers with a career-type night, pouring in 29 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including five three-pointers, while playing 39 minutes.
Kent State Tuscarawas also received a major spark off the bench from Dasjuan Williams, who scored 20 points in just 19 minutes, drilling six three-pointers and adding four assists. Jaedyn McLeod continued his strong play with 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, while pulling down seven rebounds.
Floor general Blaine Raber controlled the tempo, dishing out 11 assists to go along with seven points, and the Golden Eagles won the rebounding battle 31–23. Despite Miami-Middletown keeping the game close late, Kent State Tuscarawas' shooting efficiency and timely perimeter scoring proved decisive in securing the victory.
Ethan Bower came home with the Player of the Game with his outstanding 29 point performance.
The Golden Eagles finished of the Holiday Classic strong and prepare for Lorain County Community College at home on December 16 at 7:30 PM.
